6. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

The product development step consists of executing the design specification in order to build the finished product. Throughout this step, technical reviews are performed in order to ensure quality is built into the product and that deliverables adhere to all stated business requirements. A product development framework and change control process is defined for accommodating smooth production integration. Unit testing of each developed product is performed and work-in-progress models are presented to key business users. New ideas and enhancements are captured and prioritized for future phases.

The Product Development step focuses on delivering a final product without expanding the original scope of the project or the product’s functionality.
