2. REQUIREMENTS GATHERING

Requirements Gathering is the single most important step for ensuring the success of a Business Intelligence project. This step is usually accomplished by performing a series of JAD (Joint Application Development) sessions with senior management and business analysts. These sessions identify key system functionality required for development. In most cases, experienced staff articulates how processes may also be improved. The information from these sessions is compiled and documented in detail, providing invaluable insight as to how a project may be integrated with existing business processes.
